Leaving a Legacy to Age UK Hillingdon

How Legacies can help in the Future

Age UK Hillingdon is a registered charity working for all older people in the Borough of Hillingdon. It was established in 1989 has grown rapidly in recent years, providing an ever expanding range of services. We have 96 members of staff and more than two hundred volunteers who help us provided 20 services to improve the lives of older people in the borough. With your help we could do more. Already some local people have remembered us in their wills and in this way made their contribution to the work of the charity. They are remembered, not only within our organisation, but for the way in which they have contributed to the future of others. If you choose to leave a gift to Age UK Hillingdon the correct wording is important. If you would like to support our work we recommend the following wording for inclusion in your will.

For a gift of a specific sum of money:

"I give the sum of £ to Age UK Hillingdon charity number 1051711 of 2 Chapel Court, 126 Church Road, Hayes, UB3 2LW, for its general charitable purposes. I further declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy."

You may like to leave to Age UK Hillingdon the residue of your estate when all your specific bequests have been made (known as residuary bequest) and the wording would be as follows:

For the gift of a residue:

"I give the residue of my estate to Age UK Hillingdon charity number 1051711 of 2 Chapel Court, 126 Church Road, Hayes, UB3 2LW, for its general charitable purposes. I further declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy."

If you would like to know more about the work of Age UK Hillingdon, please ask us for further details. If you decide to support our work in your will, you may like to consider pledging your support now. Obviously, leaving a bequest to a charity is a very personal and private matter, but it would help us greatly in our planning for the future if we had an indication of a proposed legacy. If you would like to let us know your intention, we will gladly keep you in touch with our work and how it is progressing.
